Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has had a tough year. In June, he spent time on the disabled list with a knee injury.
Jimmy Rollins To Disabled List With Groin Strain

Via Rollins’ official Twitter account, we learn what the diagnosis was:
Soooooo this is what we got...mild grade 2 strain. DLAnd how long he expects to be out:
Gone till September.........
The Sporting News article linked above indicates that the Phillies are ready to activate Placido Polanco from the disabled list, as he has been given a clean bill of health from team doctors after suffering a sports hernia. Wilson Valdez, who has filled in at various infield positions (as well as pitching!) for the Phillies this year, will likely sub for Rollins until his return.
None of these injuries have prevented the Phillies from posting the best record in baseball, 81-45 as of Monday morning, and leading the NL East by 6-1/2 games. One wonders how they’d do with a completely healthy team.
