Albert Haynesworth Pleads No Contest To Assault, Will Serve Community Service

Albert Haynesworth pleaded no contest to one count of simple assault in the sexual abuse case involving a waitress at a Washington D.C. hotel. Haynesworth will serve 160 hours of community service as punishment. He must undergo alcohol and psychological assessments as part of the agreement, and has been ordered to stay away from the victim. His record will be cleared should he meet all requirements within 18 months.

Haynesworth was set to begin trial Tuesday, but went to court a day early in order to enter his plea. He reportedly gave reporters a “Go Patriots” as he entered the D.C. Superior Court on Monday.

Haynesworth was accused of harassing a cocktail waitress at the W Hotel in D.C. When trying to pay a bill around 1:30 a.m., Haynesworth asked the waitress if it would be okay if he slid his credit card in her blouse, seeing that her hands were full with glasses. When she agreed, Haynesworth proceeded to put his hand down her blouse and fondle her breasts.

The plea concludes what has been an interesting case, replete with bribery accusations on both sides.
