Terrelle Pryor’s Position With Raiders Results In Conflicting Reports

The Oakland Raiders used a third round pick on former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor in the 2011 NFL supplemental draft and, despite Pryor playing QB at Ohio State, no one seems to know what position he'll be playing in the NFL.

ESPN’s John Clayton reported on Monday afternoon that the Raiders viewed him as more of a receiver, and not a quarterback. That’s a believable argument considering Pryor’s size (6’6”, 230 pounds) and his speed (4.4 second 40-yard dash).

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday night that the Raiders actually view him as a quarterback, and not a receiver. So we’re not really sure who to believe.

Raider Nation is split on whether Pryor would be a successful quarterback in the NFL. SB Nation’s Silver and Black Pride ran a poll asking whether Pryor would be a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL. 46 percent of fans said yes, he will reach that level while 41 percent said that he wouldn’t.

Unfortunately we’re not going to get a good handle on Pryor’s NFL future for a couple more months considering he can’t play or practice in the first five weeks of the season.
