Kyle Busch had his day in court on Tuesday, and reports from the courtroom say a sentence has been handed down by an Iredell County (N.C.) judge.
Reports: Kyle Busch Loses Drivers License For 45 Days After Speeding Ticket
Busch will lose his driver’s license for 45 days, pay a $1,000 fine, perform 30 hours of community service and be on unsupervised probation for a year, according to reporters who were in the courtroom today.
Ever since Busch’s 128 mph speeding ticket and reckless driving charge in May – he was caught speeding while driving a Lexus LFA sports car with his wife in the passenger seat – the driver has been involved with NHRA racer Doug Herbert’s B.R.A.K.E.S program on safe driving and has also faced internal sanctions from Joe Gibbs Racing.
Busch will still be permitted to race in NASCAR because a valid state driver’s license is not required by the stock car sanctioning body.
The Sprint Cup Series points leader pled guilty to speeding and no contest to reckless driving, according to SceneDaily.com’s Bob Pockrass.
