After Tuesday saw Canada and U.S. Southwest, represented by Warner Robins Little League from Warner Robins, Ga., eliminated from tournament play by Japan and U.S. Mid-Atlantic, the de facto hometown team, represented by Keystone LL from Clinton County, Pa., respectively, there are two winner’s bracket games lined up for Wednesday.
Little League World Series 2011 Schedule For Wednesday
Winner’s bracket, you say? Aren’t these little tykes were all winners, you say? That may be true, inquisitive reader, but in the LLWS some are more winner than others. That means the two teams that lose Wednesday won’t be knocked out of the tournament, but will play Tuesday’s winners instead.
The action in Williamsport kicks off at 4 p.m. when Latin America, represented by Venezuela, takes on Mexico on ESPN and ESPN3. For both teams this will be their first game in bracket play, having each gone 2-0 in the international pool last week.
Following that game, at 8 p.m., U.S. West, represented by Ocean View LL from Huntington Beach, Calif., will face off against U.S. Northwest, Billings Big Sky LL from Billings, Mont. Both teams, like the early game, went 2-0 in pool play.
West looks like the favorite to win after winning its two game by a combined score of 21-0. That’s, um, a considerable margin, and how they perform against Northwest will be a good benchmark to see if they truly are the dominant team in Williamsport.
