Wily Mo Pena Has Drawn A Walk

Early Wednesday, Wily Mo Pena drew his first walk of the season, and it took him only 68 plate appearances to do it. And just for good measure, he drew the walk – a four-pitch walk – off Josh Tomlin, who came into action with the lowest walk rate in the American League. Baseball!

↵Pena thus moves ahead of Jhoulys Chacin and Bronson Arroyo in walks drawn, and ties Jason Hammel. Twenty players in baseball have drawn zero or one walk over 50+ trips to the plate. One of them is Wily Mo Pena, one of them is Josh Harrison, and 18 of them are pitchers.
