40-Year-Old Jorge Posada Plays Second Base

With the Yankees beating the A’s 22-8 in the top of the ninth - they did hit three grand slams, after all - Joe Girardi found a way to involve Jorge Posada. He involved Jorge Posada by having him play second base. It was, not surprisingly, Posada’s first-ever appearance at second in the major leagues, although it is worth noting that he was a semi-regular second baseman with A-ball Oneonta in 1991. That’s practically yesterday!
