What Goes Up ...

Entering Friday night's game against the Angels, Michael Young had put the ball in play 458 times, and of those 458 batted balls exactly zero of them were pop-ups.

The streak is over, though. With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Young lifted a pop into unpleasant territory near first base, where Mark Trumbo -- despite what must have been an immense amount of pressure -- recorded the out and forestalled history.

Meanwhile, Orange County's Howie Kendrick did not pop up in Friday's game, which leaves him as this season's non-popping-up leader, at 323 batted balls.
