MLB TV Schedule, 8/4: Rangers/Tigers, Indians/Red Sox

An abbreviated schedule on getaway day includes a nationally televised afternoon matchup. All times Eastern.

1 p.m., MLB Network, FSN Southwest, FSN Detroit: Rangers at Tigers. The Tigers look for a four-game sweep over the AL West leaders. Detroit holds on to the AL Central lead despite a negative run differential. MLBN viewers in Dallas/Ft. Worth and Detroit will see Rays/Blue Jays at 12 noon ET.

7 p.m., MLB Network, NESN, STO: Indians at Red Sox. The Tribe also has a negative run differential. In fact, no one in the AL Central is in the plus column in that category. MLBN viewers in Cleveland and Boston will see Cubs/Pirates.

8 p.m., WGN, YES Network: Yankees at White Sox. The last time the Yankees swept a four-game series in Chicago was in 1976, when the Yankees were on their way to an AL pennant and the White Sox had a 97-loss season. It could happen tonight.

10 p.m., FSN West, FSN North: Twins at Angels. The Twins lurk on the periphery of the AL Central race, eight games out. The Angels are just a game behind the Rangers in the AL West.
