Mexico Names 20-Man Squad For Friendly Vs. United States

'Chepo' Jose Manuel de la Torre has his team for Mexico's friendly against the United States on August 10 and it has one notable omission. Javier Hernandez has not been named to the team as he recovers from a concussion suffered during preseason training with Manchester United. Even without Chicharito, El Tri are the heavy favorites to defeat the U.S., a month and a half after overcoming a 2-0 deficit to win the Gold Cup final versus their arch-rivals, 4-2.

With Chicharito out, Chepo has just two strikers in the team with Omar Arellano and Oribe Peralta, with Giovani dos Santos supporting him. It is a first-choice squad for Chepo that will once again be led by the young attacking trio of dos Santos, Pablo Barrera and Andres Guardado that led them to Gold Cup glory.
