Manchester City win a corner with basically their first spell of possession in the match to date. It's easily cleared by the Manchester United defence, who then march back up the field and try to win a corner of their own on the break. That doesn't quite work, so City go back down the other end and win a corner, which is... easily cleared by the United defence. Stop me if you've heard that one before.
Manchester United Vs. Manchester City, 2011 Community Shield: If You Like Corners, You’ll Love This Match
Anyway, the inevitable United counterattack is thwarted by Joleon Lescott committing some sort of assault on young Danny welbeck, which doesn't seem particularly polite. Patrice Evra repays the favour a few seconds later Phil Dowd waggles his finger in decidedly unimpressed fashion. Either my football sensors are no longer calibrated for the Premier League or those two fouls could have been yellow cards in 'real' matches. I'm not sure.
Also, we haven’t had a corner in something like two minutes now? I wonder if something is wrong.
