According to Elias (via ESPN Stats & Info), before the Mets beat the Padres Monday night with three runs in the bottom of the ninth, 1) the Mets lost 195 straight games when behind by two or more runs in the ninth, and 2) the Padres had won 187 straight games when ahead by two or more runs in the ninth.

↵Here’s the capper: Both streaks were the longest of their kind in the majors.
