Phillies End 95-Year Streak

What does September 1, 2011 have in common with May 16, 1916?

↵

On both dates, the Philadelphia Phillies completed a four-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati.

↵Between those dates, by my count, the Phillies played 74 four-game series in Cincinnati. The Phillies were swept by the Reds in 13 of those series, without sweeping even one of their own. But now they’ve done it, after more than 95 years.

↵(The Phils also played 14 five-game series and two six-game series in Cincinnati. They didn’t sweep any of those, either.)
