There are unlikely cycles, and then there's Bengie Molina hitting for a cycle. This is somewhere in between. With four hits in the first six innings of the San Francisco Giants' game in Colorado, Pablo Sandoval hit for the cycle.

That’s right. A triple too. Vroooom!

Sandoval, truth be told, isn’t that slow. He could probably lap Molina on a run around the bases. But he certainly isn’t a triples machine, coming into Thursday night’s game with one triple this season and ten in his career. He hit a long home run to right field in the first inning, and a single up the middle in the second. In the fifth, he looped a double down the left-field line, leaving him just a triple short of the cycle.

Just a triple. Sounds so easy. Except, it was Pablo Sandoval.

That's what a Pablo Sandoval triple looks like. Feels like it should be narrated by David Attenborough. The cycle was the second of this baseball season, with Brewers backup catcher George Kottaras using his second career triple to achieve his cycle on September 3rd.

The last cycle for the Giants was also in Coors Field, with Fred Lewis accomplishing it on May 13, 2007. Sandoval is the 10th Giant to hit for the cycle since the team moved to San Francisco, and the 23rd in Giants franchise history.

Pablo’s four hits gives the Giants a total of five for the season.
