Johnny Cueto owns a 2.31 ERA on the season. Clayton Kershaw comes in at 2.30. Thus, there exists some possibility that Cueto could end the year as the National League’s ERA leader.
Tough Break, Johnny Cueto

And by “some possibility” I mean no possibility. Cueto’s season is over due to injury, with an innings total of 156 that will fall short of the arbitrary 162 minimum needed to qualify for the ERA title. Cueto will not rank first, or second, or even third. He will not rank at all! Too bad.
