Every one of these games will have some impact on playoff positions or seedings. All times Eastern.
MLB TV Schedule, 9/23: Yankees/Red Sox, Giants/Diamondbacks
7 p.m., MLB Network, YES Network, NESN: Red Sox at Yankees. Weather permitting, that is. It's Jon Lester vs. Freddy Garcia. Some MLBN viewers will see Rays/Blue Jays. (Or, they all will, if it rains in New York.)
7 p.m., SportSouth, MASN: Braves at Nationals. The Braves hang on to a slim two-game lead in the NL wild card race... and they have to face Stephen Strasburg tonight.
8:15 p.m., CSN Chicago, FSN Midwest: Cubs at Cardinals. The Cardinals are the team trailing the Braves by two games, and they love beating up on the Cubs. For Cubs fans, Starlin Castro needs only one hit to become the youngest Cub in franchise history to have a 200-hit season.
10 p.m., CSN Bay Area, FSN Arizona: Giants at Diamondbacks. One Arizona win clinches the NL West for them. The Giants still have wild-card hopes, though. Matt Cain pitches against Joe Saunders.
