With his 29th and 30th home runs today in a critical game for the Red Sox, Jacoby Ellsbury became the first player in franchise history with 30 homers and 30 steals in the same season.

Even as the Sox have nosedived in September, Ellsbury has only played better. Depending on where you rate his defensive contributions, Ellsbury's probably been the best or the second-best non-Verlander in the American League this season.
↵But if the Sox blow this thing, most of the MVP voters aren’t going to care much.
