Hope Solo Posing Nude! Sort Of!

Hopesolo_medium

After that one issue where they photoshopped Mike Vick as a white guy, and the time they dedicated an entire issue to that criminally overlooked sports town, Boston, Massachusetts, we know you've all been wondering: How can ESPN: The Magazine possibly top that?

The answer, via USA Today:

Gymnast Alicia Sacramone, snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, goalie Hope Solo, the NBA’s Blake Griffin, MLB’s Jose Reyes and the NFL’s Steven Jackson lead the list of athletes posing nude or semi-nude in ESPN The Magazine’s third annual ‘Body Issue.’

Over 20 athletes will appear naked or barely-clothed (with private parts strategically covered) in the “Bodies We Want” section of the 2011 issue, said ESPN The Magazine editor-in-chief Chad Millman. The mag’s third “exploration and celebration of the athletic form” hits newsstands Oct. 7.

Yes, for three years straight, this issue has been creeping out male and female sports fans alike. But hey, if you thought white Mike Vick would sell magazines, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Literally: You haven’t seen Blake Griffin naked, and even if you didn’t want to... The Magazine hits newsstands October 7th.
