ANIMATED: The Greatest Moment From Wednesday Night, Courtesy Of... The Dodgers

Before Wednesday night’s Braves-Phillies game, I mused privately that the most appropriate and the worst way for the collapsing Braves to go out would be to lose by one run in extra innings because they couldn’t hit. That sort of ended up being true, and after the 13th and final inning ended, I realized that I had spent the following 16 minutes sitting in my chair and doing absolutely nothing and looking at absolutely nothing.

That was when I realized there was other baseball going on, and I flipped to the Red Sox game, and they lost on a walkoff, and I flipped the channel, and three minutes later the Rays won on a walkoff. I have never been as emotionally confused about any sport, at any time, ever.

None of these things are the most important thing that happened last night. The most important thing was captured in a GIF by @MikeSciosciasTI, and it is after the jump.

Congratulations to the Dodgers’ Rod Barajas and Dee Gordon, who, during the final meaningless game of a depressing season, won the 2011 World Series.
