2012 NCAA Bracket, New Mexico Vs. Long Beach State Final Score: Lobos Hang On For The Win, 75-68

The fifth-seeded New Mexico Lobos survived a scare from the No. 12 Long Beach St. 49ers in the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Thursday. The Lobos hung on to win by a final score of 75-68 in their West region opener.

Trailing 61-59 with five minutes left in the game, Kendall Williams hit a three-pointer to give the Lobos a lead that they would hang onto through the end of the game

Williams and Drew Gordon led the Lobos, as they have done all season. Gordon finished the game with a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Williams scored 16 points and had six assists for New Mexico. Hugh Greenwood and Demetrius Walker also finished in double figures for Steve Alford's squad.

New Mexico will need Gordon and Williams to be at their best on Saturday when they play the fourth-seeded Louisville Cardinals in the next round of the tournament. Louisville is coming off a win over the Cincinnati Bearcats last week to win the Big East Tournament.
