The bottom half of the West Region blew wide open on Friday with No. 15 Norfolk State’s upset of No. 2 Missouri. But the top half is still more or less intact, and No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 New Mexico meet Saturday for the right to move on to the Sweet Sixteen.
NCAA Tournament 2012, New Mexico Vs. Louisville: TV Schedule, Game Time And More
No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 New Mexico meet with a Sweet Sixteen spot on the line on Saturday.
Louisville got here by holding off spunky Davidson in the round of 64, 69-62, and earned the No. 4 seed by closing its season strong and winning the Big East Tournament. The Cardinals fuse Rick Pitino’s press with an offense that runs through Russ Smith for better or worse.
New Mexico will counter with a pair of talented forwards. Tony Snell’s the smaller of the two, and the shooter; Drew Gordon is burlier, rebounds relentlessly and is efficient down low.
Game Date/Time: Saturday, March 17, 9:30 p.m. ET
Location: Rose Garden, Portland, Ore.
TV: TBS (National)
