The seventh-seeded Florida Gators thrashed the Virginia Cavaliers by 26 points in their Round of 64 game Friday and were handsomely rewarded when they watched the Norfolk St. Spartans upset the second-seeded Missouri Tigers in the very next game. It would appear the Gators have an easy path to the Sweet 16, but as Missouri learned, the Spartans can play.
NCAA Tournament 2012, Florida Vs. Norfolk State: TV Schedule, Game Time And More

The Gators average more threes per game, 9.9, than any other team in the country. If they’re knocking down shots, there’s nothing the Spartans can do to win. However, as Charles Barkley loves to say, you don’t live by the three, you die by the three. At any moment, Kenny Boyton, Erving Walker, Bradley Beal and Erik Murphy could go cold, opening up a door enough for the Spartans to stick their foot in.
If the Spartans want to continue the magic, they’ll have to do it on the shoulders of big man Kyle O’Quinn’s shoulders. O’Quinn had 26 points and 14 rebounds as he punished the Tigers. He’ll have to do that against über-athletic big man Patric Young of Florida if the Spartans want to win another and make the Sweet 16 in their first-ever tournament appearance.
Game Date/Time: 6:10 p.m. ET
