The Saint Louis Billikens are one of the more unlikely teams to have made it to the Round of 32 in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. While their attempt at a national title may be ended by the Michigan St. Spartans, there's no basketball game that will squelch the creative impulses of the Saint Louis fanbase ... for good or for ill.
PHOTO: Saint Louis Head Coach Rick Majerus Is ‘SLUperman’
Billikens head coach Rick Majerus is not your typical college basketball coach. He’s an enormous man who eschews the typical suit in favor of a Belichick-esque sweatshirt and is always wearing an expression as though he’s just realized he might have left the oven on at home.
But the Saint Louis fans absolutely love the guy and go out of their way to show their appreciation. SLU fans are notoriously creative. Why, just look at how creative their band is!
Ha ha, face paint! Star-shaped sunglasses! What will those crazy kids think of next?
The Saint Louis fans turned up en masse to support the team in Sunday’s game against MSU and they brought a sign that may end up being prescient, or perhaps will just look foolish in hindsight.
Look at that crowd going wild! Or checking their phones or just quietly nodding off as SLU shoots 24 percent from the floor in the first half!
Only time will tell whether this eager fan’s sign will hold up, but even the guy pointing at the back of the sign can tell that, if nothing else, this is a top-notch PhotoShop job.
