Eric Page, 2012 NFL Draft: Toledo Receiver Declares For Draft Instead Of Breaking Records

Eric Page will leave Toledo after his junior season to enter the 2012 NFL Draft instead of coming back for his senior season to break the NCAA record for career receptions.

Toledo Rockets junior wide receiver Eric Page surprisingly has decided to leave school early and head for the 2012 NFL Draft. Page was just 43 receptions behing Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles for the most career receptions in NFL history. "It's always been my dream to play in the NFL and I think right now is a great opportunity for me," Page told the Toledo Free Press. "This would have never been able to happen without my teammates, coaches and my family."

Page told the Toledo Free Press the NFL’s draft advisory board gave him a grade of being drafted between the third and fifth round of the upcoming draft, which is why his leaving is a bit surprising. Page will leave the Rockets with 306 career receptions with 3,446 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. Page has had over 1,000 yards receiving every year at Toledo as well as being a dangerous return man.

Page doesn’t have great size, at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, or great speed but it’s hard to deny his production and impact in big games for Toledo.
