Ryan Tannehill Injury: QB Has Broken Foot, Will Miss 2012 NFL Draft Combine

Former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a foot injury that could require surgery and will force him to miss the 2012 Senior Bowl and possibly the NFL Combine.

Former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2012 NFL Draft and was looking to improve his draft stock by participating the 2012 Senior Bowl, but according to Tannehill's agent he suffered a broken bone in his foot and will now miss the annual all-star game and potentially the 2012 NFL Combine.

According to Tannehill’s agent Pat Dye, the quarterback broke his fifth metatarsal bone in his foot in a passing drill and it could require surgery. The injury will definitely keep Tannehill out of the Senior Bowl on Jan. 28 in Mobile, AL. If Tannehill opts for surgery on his foot it could prevent him from throwing at the NFL Combine and definitely prevent him from doing the agility and speed drills. It is possible Tannehill would be able to throw sometime in March however for NFL teams.

In 2011 the 6-foot-4, 222 pound quarterback threw for 3,744 yards with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He took over the starting quarterback position in the 2010 season after playing exclusively at wide receiver for his first 30 games as an Aggie. As it stands, Tannehill is rated by most draft experts as the third best quarterback in the 2012 NFL Draft class.
