The Arkansas Razorbacks got some good news on Friday with the announcement that junior quarterback Tyler Wilson will return to school for his senior season. "I have decided to stay at Arkansas for the 2012 season because I am extremely excited for what this team has the opportunity to accomplish and to finish earning my degree," Wilson said in a release issued by the school.

“After the feedback I received, the decision was extremely difficult to make. Ultimately, the chance to complete my academics and play one more season as a Razorback were compelling reasons for me to remain in Fayetteville,” Wilson said. “This past year was great for us with 11 wins and a top-five finish and we want to build on that. The group of players we have returning has high expectations and wants to work hard to compete for championships. Although my goal is to play in the NFL, I believe I can benefit greatly from another year of working with Coach (Bobby) Petrino and Coach Paul Petrino.”

The Razorbacks finished with an 11-2 record this season in the SEC with the No. 13 ranked offense in the country. In his junior season, Wilson passed for 3,686 yards with 24 touchdowns, making the transition from former Razorbacks quarterback and current New England Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett seamless. With Wilson returning, the Razorbacks are poised to have one of the best offenses in the SEC again in 2012. By most draft expert accounts, Wilson could have been the third quarterback selected in the 2012 NFL Draft.
