Jeff Fisher Says Rams Are Willing To Trade No. 2 Pick

The St. Louis Rams are currently the proud owners of the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The expected pick for the Rams in the first round is USC Trojans offensive tackle Matt Kalil, but this year's class is stacked with all sorts of prospects at every position. Kalil represents the pick that the Rams would take, but not necessarily the selection every team would make if given that placement in the draft.

It appears as though the Rams may be amenable to trading their slot in the first round for the right compensation. Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times sent out a series of tweets on Friday with comments from Rams head coach Jeff Fisher.

I’m very excited. It’s gone well. Everything has been very exciting. [The No. 2 pick] will define the immediate and long-term future of the franchise.

We have options: take the best player or see what people are willing to offer. There’s a lot of options. We’ll be prepared.

If a team should decide that they need Kalil, or wants to ensure that they'll be able to select Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III, it sounds like the Rams are ready to entertain offers. They could wind up with more than just the top offensive tackle in the draft.
