NFL Draft 2012: Redskins Trade With Rams For No. 2 Overall Pick, According To Report

The St. Louis Rams hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 Draft, but many analysts suspected there would be many teams itching to trade with them for the spot in order to ensure themselves the ability to pick former Baylor Bears quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. The Cleveland Browns were long considered the front-runners to make such a trade, but it appears another team was possibly willing to give up more.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Rams have agreed to trade their first-round draft selection slot to the Washington Redskins. The two teams will exchange draft picks in the first round this year and the Rams will get two future No. 1 picks, as well as additional picks.

Adam Schefter of ESPN followed up on Facebook, reporting that the Rams will receive three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick from Washington.
