Robert Griffin III, NFL Draft 2012: Redskins Ready To Move Up, According To Report

The Washington Redskins have apparently identified Robert Griffin III as the player they want in the 2012 NFL Draft and, according to the Washington Post, are willing to part with two first-round picks, as well as other picks, in order to get him. With Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck projected to go No. 1, the St. Louis Rams likely control the fate of Griffin and they've expressed a willingness to trade out of the position for a haul similar to the one the San Diego Chargers netted in 2004.

The Redskins are reportedly prepared to send their No. 6 overall pick in this year’s draft, next year’s first-round pick and assorted other picks to St. Louis for the chance to pick Griffin.

Acquiring the pick may not be that simple, though. The Cleveland Browns have two first-round picks in this year's Draft, including the No. 4 overall pick, and are reportedly interested in trading up as well.

Whoever gets Griffin will be getting a player that would probably go No. 1 many years. He recently clocked a 4.41 40 time and finished off his college career by throwing for 4,293 yards, 37 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Mocking the Draft considers him the No. 5 overall prospect, but almost every mock draft has him going at No. 2.
