NFL Draft 2012: Rams Make It Clear No. 2 Pick Is For Sale

The St. Louis Rams are making it well known that they're prepared to trade the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Common sense tells us they would be, considering Robert Griffin III lit it up at the NFL Combine over the weekend, making that second pick even more valuable.

Head coach Jeff Fisher indicated his team would be willing to trade the second pick and COO Kevin Demoff, who spoke to Peter King over the weekend, indicated the same.

“The whole paradigm has changed in several ways,” said Rams COO Kevin Demoff Saturday night. “Griffin could be cheaper than Flynn. The fact that you can get a potential franchise quarterback for what the top picks are paid now makes it easier to justify trading a lot for it.”

Demoff told King there were a few dates to watch when it comes to potentially trading the pick. The first is shortly before free agency hits on March 13, the second is around Baylor’s pro day when Griffin III likely impresses again, and the third is shortly before the NFL draft in April.

The Rams don’t have to do much to make the No. 2 pick even more attractive. RG3 did that for them over the weekend.
