Quinton Coples Visiting Panthers, According To Report

Quinton Coples, a likely top 10 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, is visiting with the Carolina Panthers today, according to a report by Scout.com. The Panthers are currently slated to pick No. 9 in the draft and are expected to pick a defensive lineman.

SB Nation's latest Mock Draft has Coples going to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 7, but the 6-foot-6, 284-pounder would fit nicely in Carolina as well. Mocking the Draft considers Coples to be the 11th best prospect in the draft, but the top defensive lineman available.

Coples has so far done nothing to hurt his stock during the NFL Combine and workouts. He ran a 4.78-second 40 and bench-pressed 225 pounds 25 times. He’s coming off a season at North Carolina in which he had 15.5 tackles for a loss and seven sacks. He finished his collegiate career with 144 tackles and 24 sacks.
