The Colts open training camp on July 28, giving Luck, his representatives and the team a month to get the deal done. Because of the rookie salary structure in the new collective bargaining agreement, there isn’t a lot of room to negotiate the years and salary of Luck’s contract, so there’s no reason to believe that a deal won’t get worked out before camp.

The Colts could start negotiating with Luck immediately but it sounds like they won’t do that until he’s officially selected No. 1 next week.
