The Atlanta Falcons don't have a first round pick in the 2012 NFL draft after trading away multiple picks last year to move up and select WR Julio Jones. Their first pick comes near the end of the second round and SB Nation's Falcons blog, The Falcoholic, thinks Atlanta will be finding Tony Gonzalez's replacement with that pick.
NFL Draft Predictions: Dwayne Allen To Falcons Makes Sense
The Falcoholic’s prediction for the Falcons first pick in the draft:
With their first pick in the second round, the Falcons will go for tight end Dwayne Allen. Tony Gonzalez is finishing up his career in 2012 and the team needs a tight end with considerable upside to take over for him. Allen’s the guy.
This makes sense. Coby Fleener is generally regarded as the top tight end but Allen is right there as well.
