Patriots, Seahawks Have Had Trade Talks, According To Report

The New England Patriots are one of the teams to watch in the 2012 NFL Draft because they have two first round picks and a penchant for trading. Most NFL Draft experts think the Patriots will end up trading one or both of their first round picks -- No. 27 and No. 31 -- and one draft rumor says they could be moving up quite a bit.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Patriots have inquired with the Seattle Seahawks about a possible trade up to the 12th overall pick. This could just be some due diligence, or it could be a legitimate interest in moving up to No. 12. That would be extremely expensive for the Patriots, likely costing them at least both first round picks.

I’m not exactly sure who the target would be but one guess would be Alabama’s Mark Barron. Belichick has worked with Alabama head coach Nick Saban in the past so that, combined with the Patriots biggest need coming in the secondary, has me thinking Barron would be the target, but that’s just a guess (as it all is) at this point.

The Patriots are also seeking pass rushers, which is something to keep in mind.
