Jaguars Considering A Trade Up, According To Reports

The Minnesota Vikings have already traded once in the 2012 NFL draft, trading the third overall selection to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the No. 4 choice and several later-round picks. According to several reports, they could be trading again. The Jacksonville Jaguars, slated to pick seventh, are reportedly talking with the Vikings about moving up in order to select Oklahoma St. Cowboys wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

Jaguars General Manager Gene Smith “covets” Blackmon but they won’t overpay for the pick, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. To move up from No. 4 to No. 3, the Browns gave up fourth-, fifth- and seventh-round picks, so it would be expensive for the Jaguars to move up.

For the Vikings, trading down twice and picking up numerous picks while still receiving a high-caliber player would represent a heck of a deal.

The NFL Draft starts at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
