Patriots-Broncos Trade: New England Moves Up Again

The New England Patriots have traded up for the second time in the 2012 NFL draft. After trading with the Tennessee Titans to move from the 27th to the 21st pick, the Patriots have traded again, this time with the Denver Broncos. New England, who held the 31st pick in the first round, moved up to the Broncos' pick, the 25th in the first round.

The Patriots are expected to select Alabama LB Dont’a Hightower, the second defensive player in the draft for them. The Patriots took Chandler Jones with the 21st pick in the draft.

Heading into the offseason, the pass rush was a focus for the Patriots and they’re demonstrating that in this draft.

The Broncos will now pick up extra picks for moving back six spots, which isn’t a bad deal if their guy is still on the board at that point.
