Seahawks Draft Pick Bruce Irvin Had 1st Round Interest

The Seattle Seahawks raised a lot of eyebrows when it utilized its first-round pick to select Bruce Irvin, a defensive end from the West Virginia Mountaineers whose college career was marked by strong play, but also some run-ins with the law. Irvin was a head-scratcher to many at the time, but it appears he was on the radar of many teams.

Rob Rang of CBS Sports reports that there was first-round interest in Irvin from multiple teams. Rang's sources indicate that, had Irvin been available to them, he would have gone in the first round to the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, or Baltimore Ravens.

It may even be likely that Irvin being off the board may have been what convinced the Ravens to part with their first-round spot.
