2012 NFL Draft Results: Cincinnati DT Derek Wolfe Selected By The Denver Broncos With 36th Pick

The Denver Broncos needed help on the defensive line, and they used their second-round pick, No. 36, to draft Cincinnati defensive tackle Derek Wolfe.

Wolfe helps fill a big need along the Broncos’ defensive line. Denver struggled against bigger guards and centers last season, which left them vulnerable to the run and compromised their pass rush on occasion.

Here is what Wolfe’s NFL Combine profile had to say about his skill set:

Wolfe is a big interior lineman, and plays very instinctively to be a factor in the run game. He is a slow-moving, non-explosive athlete, but this doesn’t define his games and he finds other ways to be a factor. He can get overpowered by double teams, and will need to continue to develop his technique to not get erased there. Based off his frame and potential, he has late-round value in the draft.

Denver acquired the 36th pick in a trade with Tampa Bay on Friday night.
