The Cincinnati Bengals are making a comeback. After a playoff season in 2011, the Bengals have turned around and produced what looks like a terrific 2012 NFL Draft class. The Bengals had two first-round picks to work with and selected Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick with the 17th overall pick, and traded down Wisconsin G Kevin Zeitler with the 27th pick.
NFL Draft Grades: Bengals May Have Best Class
Penn State DT Devon Still was available in the second round while the Bengals picked up Rutgers WR Mohamed Sanu in the third round. Clemson DT Brandon Thompson was good value in the third round and Orson Charles, fourth-round pick, has a chance to be good.
The Bengals made the playoffs last season with a young cast of players. The early thinking on this draft class is that the Bengals just got a lot better. I’m giving them an A for finding at least a pair of starters out of this class.
