The Green Bay Packers have signed Southern Cal running back Marc Tyler, according to reports. Tyler was one of the top recruits in the country coming out of high school, but his career at USC was plagued by injury and he never fulfilled his potential in a constantly crowded backfield. He also got in trouble off-the-field on a number of occasions, which affected his draft stock. Tyler, however, still has plenty of talent and chose the Packers over offers from the Broncos, Raiders and Steelers. Via Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

“I feel it’s a great team with great young players and a great foundation,” Tyler said Saturday night. “It’s just a great tradition there. The fans there love their team. They’re supportive. I felt that gave me the best opportunity to come in and make the team and play.”

Tyler can certainly make the team and play a role on special teams. Along with the USC running back, the Packers signed seven other undrafted free agents. The complete list, via Mocking The Draft:

Nicholas Coope, RB, Winston Salem State
Randy Colling, NT, Gannon
Dezman Moses, DE, Tulane
Dale Moss, WR, South Dakota State
Sean Richardson, S, Vanderbilt
Marcus Rivers, WR, Buffalo
Dion Turner, DB, Southern Utah
Marc Tyler, RB, USC
