The Washington Redskins started the draft with the cornerstone addition of Robert Griffin III, their quarterback of the future. Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen continued to fill out the roster throughout the weekend, and signed several undrafted free agents after the draft concluded on Saturday night. Among those free agents are Virginia cornerback Chase Minnifield and Wisconsin offensive tackle Josh Oglesby.

Minnifield, the son of former Browns standout Frank Minnifield, received a draft grade from almost every scout but dropped because of injury concerns. It was surprising to not hear his name called, but the Redskins pounced and signed him shortly after the draft ended. Here's what Mocking the Draft's scouting report has to say about Minnifield:

Excels in zone situations where he can use his instincts and quickness. Shows a good amount of range when playing off his man. Plays with a lot of hustle against the run. Takes good routes to the ball and has a lot of heart to make plays.

Along with Minnifield, the Redskins signed monstrous Wisconsin tackle Josh Oglesby. The former Badger was considered one of the top offensive line prospects in the country coming out of high school and, despite five knee surgeries, he had a productive career in Madison playing for one of the best offensive line units in the country. At 6’7” and 338 pounds, he certainly has the size to make an NFL roster. Scouts question his athleticism, but many projected he would go in the later rounds and likely have a career as a backup tackle. He’s scheduled to be in Washington on Sunday to have his physical. It’s expected that his knees will pass the team doctors’ examination, and he will be cleared to play.

Here’s the current list of undrafted free agent signings by the Redskins, via Mocking the Draft:

Lennon Creer, RB, Louisiana Tech
