UDFA Darron Thomas Gets Invite To Steelers, Cardinals Minicamps

Oregon Ducks QB Darron Thomas went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, which wasn't a very big surprise. But what is a bit of a surprise is that he didn't receive a contract offer as an undrafted free agent. He's been invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals rookie minicamp, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, but only on a tryout basis.

Thomas was electric at times while at Oregon. But, as everyone knows, the Oregon offense isn’t exactly the same as an NFL offense. It’s possible Thomas never sees an NFL roster.

Most teams are holding rookie minicamps in over the next several weeks. Those will include the drafted players, undrafted free agents and other players, like Thomas, who were on an invite basis.
