Alabama’s Eddie Lacy, Dee Milliner consider NFL future

Both Lacy and Milliner played key roles in a 42-14 victory against Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship on Monday.

Running back Eddie Lacy and cornerback Dee Milliner of the Alabama Crimson Tide are both mulling over possible decisions to enter the 2013 NFL Draft, according to Andrew Gribble of Alabama.com.

Milliner is projected by many as the top ranked defensive back in the draft and could be a top 10 draft pick if he elects to enter the draft. During his junior year, his first as a full-time starting cornerback for Alabama, he earned unanimous first team All-American honors and was named a finalist for the Jim Thorpe and Bronco Nagurski awards, recognizing the nation’s top defensive back and defensive player.

Lacy accumulated 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns during his junior campaign, including 140 yards rushing and a touchdown in Monday’s BCS National Championship against Notre Dame. He also added a receiving touchdown on Monday night, one of only two during his season. SB Nation’s NFL Draft Editor, Dan Kadar, said that Lacy will likely be one of the first five running backs off the board if he chooses to declare.

Alabama earned a second consecutive national championship on Monday night with a 42-14 victory against previously unbeaten Notre Dame.
