Dion Jordan injury: Oregon LB likely out of Senior Bowl

Jordan finished without a sack in his last five games of 2012 after suffering a shoulder injury against Colorado.

Oregon Ducks linebacker Dion Jordan is unlikely to participate in the 2013 Senior Bowl due to a shoulder injury, according to Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated.

Jordan has struggled with the injury since October when he originally injured it against the Colorado Buffaloes; however, he missed just one game due to, what many believed to be, a labrum injury. Prior to the game against Colorado, Jordan had five sacks through the first seven games, but finished without a sack in his last five appearances.

At 6-7, 243 pounds, the former high school tight end switched to defense in spring 2010 and is now considered by some to be the nation’s top pass rushing threat. In the latest mock draft from SB Nation’s Matthew Fairburn, he has Jordan slated as the No. 9 pick to play outside linebacker for the New York Jets.

The Senior Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 26, with practices beginning Jan. 21.

Update:

Pauline reports that Jordan has a torn labrum and will have surgery to repair the injury.
