NFL free agency opened up on Tuesday and the Washington Redskins wasted absolutely no time in making a move. The Skins signed former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon to a deal, which he announced immediately via his personal Facebook page.

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports provided some details on the deal a short time later on Tuesday afternoon. The contract is believed to be a five-year deal worth approximately $42.5 million. Garcon will be guaranteed around $21.5 million.

This is the second blockbuster deal the Redskins have made this offseason. In the first, Washington agreed to a trade with the St. Louis Rams that will net them the No. 2 overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft, a pick it is believed they will use to sign Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III. If they indeed do, Washington fans can be excited about Griffin-to-Garcon touchdowns for the next five seasons.
