Free Agents LaRon Landry, Anthony Gonzalez Expected To Visit Patriots

The New England Patriots were fairly quiet on the first day of free agency before adding former Cincinnati Bengals DT Jonathan Fanene on day two. Now, on the third day of the free agency period, word comes down that the Patriots are visiting with a pair of free agents -- safety LaRon Landry and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, according to the Boston Herald.

Landry is a former top 10 pick with the Washington Redskins. When healthy, he's a dynamic safety who can instantly upgrade a secondary. The problem, however, is that Landry has dealt with various ailments in the last couple of years, making his health a concern.

Gonzalez is another former first-round pick. The Indianapolis Colts picked him up in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft and his first two years in the league were productive before injuries limited him to just 11 games in the past three years.
