Matt Flynn Not Offered Contract Following Visit With Seattle Seahawks

Matt Flynn visited with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. According to Dave Mahler of KJR in Seattle, Flynn left the visit without a contract offer. Despite the Seahawks' desire to pick up a free agent quarterback this offseason, they will apparently be looking elsewhere to add help under center.

Flynn was considered perhaps the hottest quarterback commodity in free agency prior to Peyton Manning's release from the Indianapolis Colts. Flynn is already visiting with the Miami Dolphins following his visit with Seattle. The Dolphins have reportedly been ruled out of the Manning sweepstakes.

It isn’t clear whether the Seahawks ever thought Flynn might have what it takes to be a franchise quarterback. For now, the team appears to be taking a wait-and-see approach to addressing the quarterback position.
