Former Oakland Raiders first-round pick Robert Gallery has agreed to terms with the New England Patriots, according to Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network. Gallery has gained more notoriety for failing to live up to being a No. 2 overall pick in 2004. He could be a valuable backup guard in New England, however.

Gallery spent this past season with the Seattle Seahawks on a three-year contract. He struggled to stay healthy due to a groin injury, however, and the team cut him last week as a result. He has missed 18 games over the past three seasons.
Bill Belichick was reportedly high on Gallery as a tackle when he entered the NFL Draft out of Iowa. Gallery has since moved to the interior and will turn 32 before the start of the season.
