Peyton Manning’s Broncos Visit Won’t Include Contract Negotiations, According To Report

The Denver Broncos are the first team to land a visit with free agent Peyton Manning but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the favorites. The Broncos are simply the first of multiple visits but the fact that Manning is making a trip shows that the Broncos at least have a shot at the former Colts QB.

Most importantly, ESPN reports that there will be no contract negotiations during the visit. Thus, it seems unlikely Manning will have a contract from Denver on Friday night. One ESPN source said of the visit:

“There is absolutely no preferred choice at this time. This is typical (Manning) doing his own research because it’s a first-time and only-time process from a free-agent vantage point. Physically seeing facilities and the geography of cities that he is not acquainted with is part of his own research.”

The Dolphins and Cardinals are two other teams he will reportedly visit. Dates and times of those visits aren't known but it's also been reported that he hopes to make a decision before Tuesday, the start of free agency.

There could also be interest from the much heralded mystery team at some point. They always seem to pop up in big free agent pursuits.
