Rob Gronkowski Injury Update: Patriots Tight End Still In A Boot

The New England Patriots' game-changing tight end, Rob Gronkowski, suffered an ankle injury during the Patriots' AFC Championship Game victory over the Baltimore Ravens. It looks like the big man will be ready to go in Super Bowl XLVI next Sunday, but Gronkowski is still in a boot, departing the Patriots' flight to Indianapolis with it on.

Gronkowski left the AFC Championship Game after having his ankle rolled up during a tackle by Bernard Pollard, but did return to the game. He hasn't participated in a Patriots practice since that game, but told reporters after it that he should be good to play in the Super Bowl.

For Patriots fans, the idea of a team's star wearing a boot before a match-up in the NFL's championship game against the New York Giants is a familiar one: Tom Brady wore a walking boot for some of the run-up to the Super Bowl XLII the two teams played in early 2008.
